- I’m teaching video editing in NYC!
If you, your significant other, friend, child, their school, or after school program is interested in video editing classes, privately or in a group, message or email me at susannaericsson@gmail.com
I graduated from UCLA Film School and have 13+ years of industry experience editing videos for HBO, Max, Hulu, TBS, CBS, ABS, FX, FXX, Disney, Netflix, and many more. You can watch some of the videos I’ve made here: Editing Reel
You can sit there and watch however many videos you’d like online about video editing, but the only way to learn how to edit is to actually do it. And so you have to just try it! You have to just create!
In my class we’ll color outside the lines - we take risks and are not afraid of messing up! That’s the only way to learn. When inventing the light bulb, Thomas A. Edison famously replied to a comment about all of his “failed” attempts, “I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”
Editing videos is about trusting yourself and your instincts - trusting that you know what does and doesn't look good! Learning to trust that if you’re not excited about your video, no one else will be: “We’re following that thrilling energy in our body.” - Rick Rubin. “Anytime I’ve gone against that [my instincts], anytime, is when I’ve made a mistake.” - Oprah Winfrey.
I’m going to help you harness your intuition and creativity, so that you can stay true to who you are, all the beautiful, unique parts that make up your creative DNA.
We often want to fit in so badly in society that we end up losing all the things about ourselves that were unique. But, all the things that you think are weird about you, those are your superpowers!
Whatever you feel like is different about you, that you don’t see in other people, that is your treasure. And that is what is going to make your video one of a kind!
Are you ready?! - Let’s Make a Video!
